Racers raved about our Sprint course, so it’s baaaaaack!
Following your 400 meters swim in majestic Wawayanda Lake and a quick change in transition, head out on the 9 miles Mountain Bike course. Our Sprint course will have you on the USA Triathlon Off Road National Championship course for almost the entire ride. The difference is that at the splits you’ll be following the GREEN sprint signs. The first split is shortly after the mile 6 aid station. You’ll make a RIGHT turn and bypassing the uber techy part of the championship course before jumping on most of the backside of the blue championship course. The second split will be as you get back to the edge of the lake, and Sprint racers will stay straight ahead following GREEN arrows and simply continue up the fire road and back to transition. Don’t worry there will be plenty of signage and you’ll get your fill of the rocky goodness of Wawayanda State Park in the Sprint race.
Please walk your mountain bike into transition before changing for the 3 miles trail run. The Sprint trail run uses PINK arrows and heads right when leaving transition – the same route that you started the mountain bike course with. When you get to the furnace stay RIGHT to head up the Laurel Pond fire road before heading into some rocky single track which will lead you to the final fire road and onwards through the finish chute.
Please check out the vendor expo and enjoy post-race snacks.
