Jersey Gravel Deux

Sunrise on the dirt. A mass of riders rolling out together. Mid-ride pancakes and stories swapped over great food at the finish. It's a gravel gran fondo built around great roads and good people, with timed segments when you want to let it rip.

Come For The Roads. Stay For The People.

Jersey Gravel Deux is a Gran Fondo experience that takes you across the renowned unpaved roads of the Bedminster area and flows into the best dirt roads and trails Somerset, Morris and Hunterdon Counties have to offer.

Race the timed segments or simply ride your ride. Between segments, the clock stops. Regroup with friends, soak in the scenery, and refuel at stocked aid stations with pancakes, real maple syrup, pierogies and more.

Some come to race. Others for the miles, the roads and the camaraderie. There's no wrong way to ride Jersey Gravel.

Since 2018, the Jersey Gravel Grinder has brought riders together for one of New Jersey's signature gravel experiences. Deux is Edition XIII.

Choose your distance. Ride it your way.

From The Riders

"I came alone and left with four new riding buddies. The pancake stop alone is worth the entry."

Dan R. · Adventure, 2025

"Best supported gravel event I have done in the Northeast. The volunteers treat you like family."

Melissa K. · Soul, 2025

"I raced the segments hard, then soft-pedaled between them telling stories. Best of both worlds."

Chris P. · Mega, 2025

Event History

From humble beginnings with 65 riders, the event has grown in popularity with hundreds of riders now attending the spring and fall editions.

The original spring edition was so well loved that riders kept asking for a second helping of Jersey Gravel in the fall. That is how The Deux was born.

Backed by 10+ years of producing endurance events. Deux is Edition XIII.

Can I do this?

New To Gravel? You're Welcome Here.

You do not have to be an elite racer to belong at Jersey Gravel Deux. The neutral portions between segments exist so you can recover, regroup and ride with people, not away from them. Soul at 35 miles is genuinely approachable for a first gravel event. Adventure at 65 is the sweet spot for most riders who ride regularly. Mega at 100 is the serious challenge if you want one.

Aid stations are stocked, the course is marked, support is on the road, and nobody gets left out there. Ride your ride.

What bike do I need?
Gravel started with a bring what ya got attitude well before dedicated gravel bikes existed. So while a gravel bike is optimal, feel free to bring a road bike with max width tires, a hybrid, a mountain bike or an ebike. We strive to be inclusive and provide a great experience for riders of all types, abilities and gear.
What tire size do you recommend?
We recommend at least 38 mm tires. 40-45 mm is even better and gives you a great ride with traction and comfort.
Do I need to race the segments?
Racing the segments is up to you. It's fun to sprint and challenge yourself, but if you want to chill and enjoy that part of the ride that's fine too.
Can I ride with friends?
Absolutely. In fact many riders make new riding buddies during our event.
Are e-bikes allowed?
Yes. Just let us know so we don't mix your results with the other categories.
What happens if I change distances?
You can edit your entry in BikeReg to move up or down. If there's a different cost, the registration platform will simply charge you the difference.

Gran Fondo With Timed Segments

Your day is scored on the combined time of the timed segments, not total ride time. Clear signage marks the Approach, Start and End of each segment, so you know exactly when to hammer and when to soft-pedal and chat. Racing them is entirely optional.

GPS Segment Timing

Segment times are captured by GPS through a dedicated timing app that riders will download before race day. We are finalizing the platform now and will post the app details and setup instructions here and by email. Timed segment locations will be shared with registered riders close to the event. Segments are short and punchy, not long grinds.

Marked & Mapped

Arrow signs at every turn plus free access to our RideWithGPS event page with downloadable FIT and GPX files and visual and audio cues.
